What did I learn last night
1. Don't tell an emotive story when you are sick, tired and rushed - I missed important elements and probably didn't get across the message that I wanted to. Was a spur of the moment decision to share and I'm not sure that the timing was right for me or for the students. Perhaps I'll recap next week.
2. Yes, it is a gamble trusting that others will care for my 'stuff' - someone broke one of my bassburger speakers by forcing it open instead of twisting it. Now it doesn't stay closed - hoping that is still works. I'm sure it was an accident but it makes me sad.
3. I still get that rewarding buzz when I help someone learn something new - even an adult. I worked with Heather on embeding a YouTube clip in her Weebly. Never actually used a Weebly so it was a good feeling to be able to figure it out - and an even better feeling to see how pumped Heather was that she had persisted, sought help and made it happen after her initial frustration. That's the feeling that I get from teaching kids and it is satisfying to know it is still there when teaching adults.

Thank you for sharing your story. I'm only just starting prac (with Year 11!) but it really resonated with me.
Love your enthusiasm and the effort you and Angelina both make, though by the end of the session I think we are all completely overloaded. Like red cordial and lollies.

Thanks Catherine, I can relate to the red cordial and lollies feeling. It will slow down after week five and become much more learner directed. We are cramming it in now so you can explore on your own individualised journey later.
